How Crayon Eater’s Wife Started: A Story of Humor, Healing, and Home

Crayon Eater’s Wife didn’t begin as a brand, a movement, or a mission. It started with something simple: a small Facebook group and a whole lot of Military humor. A place where veterans, spouses, and supporters could come together, laugh a little, and feel understood.

We had no idea at the time. This little corner of the internet would grow into something much bigger. It became a true community.

Over time, jokes and memes turned into conversations. Conversations turned into connections. And those connections turned into support systems. Real people share real stories and real struggles. They experience real healing. All of this is built on an unlikely foundation. It consists of crayons, sarcasm, and the kind of humor only the military world truly gets.

But behind the jokes was always a deeper purpose:

To build a space where camaraderie mattered. Where you weren’t alone. Where healing through humor wasn’t just a tagline—it was a lifeline.

We’ve seen firsthand how depression, PTSD, addiction, isolation, and the weight of transition can crush someone in silence. And we’re done letting people suffer quietly.

    Our mission is simple:

Break the stigma around mental health and addiction

Support one another like a real family

    Bring veterans and supporters together

Heal through connection, community, and laughter

And remind each other that it’s okay to not be okay

Crayon Eater’s Wife grew because you showed up—sharing your stories, your humor, your struggles, and your victories. Every day, this community shows that laughter really can save lives. When one of us falls, the rest pick them up.

Thank you for being part of this wild, heartfelt, chaotic, crayon-colored journey.

We’re just getting started—and we’ve got your six.

    Service Dog Give-A-Way

We’ve got some AMAZING news to share today! As part of our Pet Therapy Thursday initiative, our very own admin P.C. Crowder — who not only serves our community but also breeds and trains dogs for veterans he is making an incredibly generous donation:

✨ A trained German Shepherd from his upcoming litter for one of our members! ✨

This isn’t just a pet—this is a life-changing partner. This dog will be trained to meet the specific needs of the selected veteran. It will offer not only companionship but real support for daily life, mental health, and healing. Animals have a powerful impact. We are beyond honored to help bring that transformation to someone in our community.

💙 CCEW1775.org and P.C. will manage the choice process and cover ALL travel arrangements for the chosen veteran. No cost. No stress. Just support, love, and a new battle buddy.

If you or someone you know can gain from a trained service dog, please apply using the link below:
